He is finally left alone to maintain The Great Tomb of Nazarick and the NPC’s within that were written by the other members of the guild. As a laugh he reads through the code of his right hand woman Albedo, the leader of the hand maidens who protect the floors of Nazarick. He notices that her personality profile has been written in as being a ‘Bitch’, so he writes it in as being in love with him, just as the clock reaches midnight. He has seen it through to the bitter end.
But wait, Momonga hasn’t logged out. He still sits there, he cannot get through to admin or any other real world people. Then his NPC’s start to talk, Albedo and his man servant Sebas Tian. This confuses Momonga, he must see what this new world is like as it is definitely different from the Yggdrasil game he has just been playing.
How many other player exist in this new world? That is the question on Momonga’s mind, as well as what his own strengths are like in this new world. He tells Sebas to get all the guardians to meet him in the arena. He later teleports into the arena and meets the guardians. He tests his magic powers and after that they all swear fealty to their Lord Momonga. The next job is the defence of Nazarick, he tasks Sebas and one of the twin guardians of levels four to eight, Mare to beef up the Tombs defences.
Momonga uses a magic mirror to survey the nearby lands of this new world. HeĀ spots a group of knights attacking innocent villagers. He cares nothing for either knight or villager but then he remembers a debt he owed one of his old guild mates and decides to help the villagers to also start to spread the word of Momonga and his guild.
Overlord has to deal with deadly cults, sadistic killers, Zombie hoards and a vampire as well as adventuring to be had. Overlord is a lot more hands on than SAO for blood and grit.
