A Man, A Plan and A Bang!

From director Steven Soderbergh (Erin Brockovich, Ocean’s Eleven) comes a heist movie not like any other. So strap yourself in and enjoy this high octane ride. 

Jimmy Logan (Channing Tatum, White House Down, The LEGO Batman Movie) is a miner working to fill in sink holes that have formed under Charlotte Motor Speedway track on the infield. Once he was the best the area had for a professional football career, but his hopes were dashed due to a leg injury. Now this injury comes back to haunt him as some of the others in charge see him limping to his pick-up truck and his boss has to let him go.

He heads over to his ex-wife Bobbie Jo (Katie Holmes, Batman Begins)  to see his daughter Sadie (Farrah Mackenzie, Ascension) to take her to her pageant rehearsal. Bobbie tells Jimmy that she and her new husband Moody Chapman (David Denman, The Gift) are moving further away making it far more awkward for Jimmy to visit.

Miffed at being a insurance liability he heads over to his brothers bar, Clyde (Adam Driver, Star Wars: The Force Awakens) is serving tonight. The first thing you notice is that Clyde has a prosthetic arm, the result of two tours in Afghanistan.

Three guys walk into the bar and one of them is British businessman & NASCAR-team owner Max Chilblain (Seth MacFarlane, Ted, A Million Ways to Die in the West) and he is an idiot. He starts insulting Clyde, bad move as Jimmy steps in and a fight breaks out, leading to Jimmy fire bombing Max’s car.

He walks away and as he does he shouts “Cauliflower!”

“Did you just say Cau-li-flower?”

Next morning Clyde visits Jimmy’s trailer and immediately knows what the cauliflower meant, Jimmy wants to rob a bank. (Cauliflower was the code word for the Logan’s to be doing criminal activity)

The bank in question is the Charlotte Motor Speedway where the takings from the gate and all the concessions are stored in a vault under the infield where Jimmy was working just the other day. The man they need to start the plans is Joe Bang (Daniel Craig, Skyfall, Spectre, Cowboys & Aliens) but there is one problem.

“I am in-car-ce-re-ted”

What can possibly go wrong as Joe mentions the Logan Curse, and he wants to bring in his hapless brothers Sam and Fish (Brian Gleeson, Assassin’s Creed and Jack Quaid, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire).

This is great fun and a nice twist on the Heist genre a great one for the colection.
