Legend of the Night in UHD.

Arrow celebrate the Mistress of the Dark: Elvira on 4K UHD with this Limited Edition release. Directed by novice feature director James Signorelli (Saturday Night Live (TV Series), Easy Money), he brings Elvira (Cassandra Peterson, Movie Macabre (TV Series), Elvira’s Haunted Hills) to the big screen as her fame stretched across the globe. This release is definitely one for the double entendre loving comedy-horror fan. Horror and Sleaze come together in this 4K celebration of the womanly wiles of Elvira: Mistress of the Dark.

Los Angeles, TV horror hostess Elvira, Mistress of the Dark (Cassandra Peterson) is busy trying to put out her show as all around her is in chaos, she isn’t happy and has aspirations of opening a show in Las Vegas. The last straw is Earl Hooter (Lee McLaughlin, The Car, Silver Streak) the lecherous new owner of the station. With hopes of Las Vegas she starts packing, but her manager Manny (Charles Woolf, Mr. Mum, Darktown Strutters) drops a bombshell on her.

The Flamingo, where she plans to be a resident won’t go ahead with the show unless she comes up with $50,000 to take the risk out of their end of the deal. What is she going to do now?

I’ll just have to find another sleaze ball.

In the same instance as the bombshell, a telegram arrives telling Elvira she is a beneficiary of her great-aunt Morgana and all she has to do is turn up at the will reading in the ultra conservative town of Fallwell, Massachusetts.

Is that timing or what?

Road trip time, Elvira style.

After an eventful trip she arrives in sleepy Fallwell, which doesn’t take well to an icon of the night turning up. Well the young lads Randy (Kris Kamm, Wyatt Earp, World on Fire), Sean (Scott Morris, Dr Alien, She’s out of Control) and Bo (Ira Heiden, A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors, Father of the Bride) do, as does the granddaughter of Mrs Meeker (Pat Crawford Brown, The Rocketeer, Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion) at the cozy cot motel, Robin Meeker (Ellen Dunning). Fallwell is run by the Morality Club that keeps all the fun out of the town, and is run by Chastity Pariah (Edie McClurg, Planes, Trains & Automobiles, Carrie), but she finds a night in shining armour in cinema owner Bob Redding (Daniel Greene, Me, Myself & Irene, Hall Pass). However, that also earns her an enemy in Patty (Susan Kellermann, Beetlejuice, Death Becomes Her), who fancies Bob.

Revenge is better than Christmas.

But what is she here for, oh yeah a will reading, where she meets uncle Vinnie ( William Morgan Sheppard, Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, Transformers) who’s a very stern man that has two incompetent henchmen Billy (Frank Collison, O Brother, Where Art Thou?) and Travis (Jeff Conaway, Grease, Babylon 5 (TV Series)). What Elvira inherits is the house (Kerching) the dog Algonquin ‘Gonk’ (Binnie, The Man With Two Brains, Ruthless People) and a Cookery book. Uncle Vinnie isn’t happy with that outcome. So he sets about trying to acquire it.

That’s the plot, the rest is up to Elvira and her assets to get to the Las Vegas show, as she blows into a room like a named hurricane.

Elvira: Mistress of the Dark 4K release by Arrow is a great nostalgic comedy horror flick that is full of innuendoes, toilet jokes, and Elvira, what more could you want?

Elvira: Mistress of the Dark is available on Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray.
