When the Bat is Away, the Cat Will Play.

New for 2022, DC and Warner Brothers Animation brings us the first of three planned Catwoman animation movies. From seasoned anime animator and director Shinsuke Terasawa (XXXHOLiC (TV Series), Bubblegum Crisis) comes an adventure from the Globe trotting cat burglar, where she manages to annoy all the wrong kind of people, and they want her nine lives extinguished. Great Adventures await you.

The intro to Catwoman: Hunted shows that the crime syndicate Leviathan is trying to take over the world with different cartels from all around the world. But they have had a setback in Sochi, Russia. Flip to a mansion in Spain, where Leviathan are holding a masquerade ball, all the characters from DC are there even Selina Kyle (Elizabeth Gillies, Animal, Vacation) dressed as classic catwoman, and she is walked in by Black Mask (Jonathan Banks, Breaking Bad (TV Series), The Rise of the Viking) who is here to join Leviathan, he has his entrance fee, the Cat’s Eye Emerald.

We all know  Selina’s alter ego, and it is not long before she gets out of her outfit and changes into the modern day Catwoman outfit. Meanwhile, her accomplice Isis (her cat) is prowling the roof and messing with the motion sensors, until the security guard turns it off. Now is the time for Catwoman to spring into action. It doesn’t take her long until she has her hands on the Emerald. But a spanner is suddenly thrown into the works, and even Catwoman’s athleticism can not stop the alarms going off, she must make a break for it.

Catwoman jumps in her car and heads down the windy mountain road as all of Leviathan head after her. She has just made a very serious enemy in Leviathan head, Lady Barbara Minerva (Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Killing Eve (TV Series) , Barry (TV Series)). Catwoman realizes that it was Batwoman (Stephanie Beatriz, Brooklyn Nine-Nine (TV Series), Short Term 12) who set the alarms off, and she is also after this feline cat burglar.

In the end, it is Batwoman who comes out on top, she leaves the emerald for Leviathan to find, but she covered the emerald in a tracking liquid. Catwoman finds herself on the Penguin’s private jet, with Batwoman and Interpol agents Julia Pennyworth (Lauren Cohan, The Walking Dead (TV Series), Mile 22) and King Faraday (Jonathan Frakes, Star Trek: The Next Generation (TV Series), Star Trek: Nemesis). They offer Catwoman a way out of the worldwide warrants that have her name on, help us catch the heads of Leviathan, and we will make them all disappear.

With the aid of Interpol and Batwoman, Catwoman is about to have a new type of adventure, being the good kitty.

A great stylized DC, Warner Bros collaboration, and great start to 2022 the year of the Cat. It also features a Jazzy score by Yutaka Yamada (“Tokyo Ghoul“, “Great Pretender”).
