4 Star
Two Funerals and a Pool Party.
A big welcome back to our two favourite pool boys, Trey (J.J. Carroll, Beyond the Blockbusters (TV Series)) and Ethan (Zach Castle, A Fistful of Callers (Short)), and as we left them in season one all was looking great for their future as Beech Boys and Girls.
But that was then and now we are left with Trey, Ethan and Todd (Joshua James, Beyond the Blockbusters (TV Series)), the ever willing hanger on. (We won’t talk about the girls). The residents of the Beechwood Estates are all gathered for the funeral of pampered pooch Fifi a respectful gathering, that is until the Beech Boys turn up, well until Trey opens his mouth. This is where we see the animosity that is between Trey and Carl (Greg Curtis, Beyond the Blockbusters) and his efforts to get the Beech Boys off the estate.
How long have you had that mole?
That is the question Trey is asked, and now we know where this series is going, Trey and his cancer and to hell with everyone else as Trey wants to have an easier life than running the Beech Boys, so welcome once rival and now beech Boy with big ideas Cedric (Matt Tory, We Make Movies).
Now Trey can concentrate on his life and his Bucket list and get that ever elusive dating or even a double date including Callie (Courtney Coker, Bumblebee).
We also see Todd’s birthday party and Trey is gracious enough to show up in person.
It doesn’t count unless it’s on Facebook for people to see.
Can Trey become a better person, can the Beech Boys survive with Cedric in charge? All this and much more be revealed in Season 2 of the beach boys.
They even throw in a musical episode (Ace), and we see how jealous Trey can get when Ethan finds romance with one of Dottie’s (Becky Brown, On the Fence) granddaughters Doris (Mallory Jordan, This Week in the NFL (TV Series)) and Hope (Bronte Athearn, This Week in the NFL (TV Series)).
Season 2 is a great follow up to the original series and has a much bigger cast and a lot more gags and those now infamous Trey cringe moments. And you can look forward to Todd’s homage to Tim Allen‘s (Toy Story, Galaxy Quest) ‘Home Improvement’ series.
