Fantastical Fighting.

From martial arts maestro Woo-Ping Yuen (Drunken Master, DREADNAUGHT, IN THE LINE OF DUTY IV) comes a (Eureka Classics) Special Edition Blu-ray that will blow your socks off, as sorcerers and martial artists fight for the life of a Prince. Great stuff for the weekend.

It’s 1663, and it is illegal for Han Chinese and Manchu people to marry, but Ko Hung (Eddy Ko, The Bride With White Hair, Duel To The Death) has defied his Emperor. Now he faces death unless he kills his wife so his life will be spared, but he refuses and sees his wife murdered in front of him. He lashes out and kills the guards. When all that is left is the Emperor, Sorcerer Bat (Shun-Yee Yuen, Iron Monkey, Once Upon a Time in China) appears and announces that he and all his family will be put to death. Let the fighting begin, as Ko fights for his life, while battling the palace guards the Crown Prince is spotted playing and Ko takes him hostage and flees.

But it doesn’t turn out well for the Crown Prince as he dies accidentally at Ko’s hand.

Many years later, Ko is a drunk and is being looked after by a young man named “Shu-kan” (Yat-Chor Yuen, The Close Encounters of Vampire, Legend of a Fighter), which is literally translated as “Tree Root”. On closer inspection Shu is wearing the jade necklace the Crown Prince wore.

The Emperor’s sorcerer has a long memory, and he is always on the hunt for Ko and the prince. Throw in two squabbling Taoist priests, an Old manKa-Yan Leung, The Man with the Iron Fists, Profile in Anger) and an Old woman (Cheung-Yan Yuen, Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle, Tai Chi Master) and you are in for a magical martial arts feast.

THE MIRACLE FIGHTERS [KEI MOON DUEN GAP] (Eureka Classics) Special Edition is a great way to spend one-hundred minutes of your time.
