It was in 2009 when White found his “cult” status in the cult-hit blacksploitation homage Black Dynamite. White played Marcus in Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married? and Why Did I Get Married Too?. In 2008, White played the role of mob boss Gambol in The Dark Knight and made his directorial debut in 2011 in Never Back Down 2: The Beatdown.
Leading US martial arts magazine ‘Black Belt’ awarded White as ‘Man of the Year 2014’ and in March 2015, Arnold Schwarzenegger inducted White into “The International Sports Hall of Fame” alongside five-time world boxing champion Evander Holyfield.
