3 Star

Retirement isn’t so Restful.

Once again, director James Cullen Bressack (Killing Field (a.k.a Survive the Game), Blood Craft) teams up with Puerto Rico loving Bruce Willis and Chad Michael Murray (Killing Field (a.k.a. Survive the Game)). This time, Willis is trying to enjoy his newly acquired leisure time, squirrelled away in the middle of a jungle.

Paul Michaels (Jesse Metcalfe, Escape Plan II, Hard Kill) is watching his inspiring investment advert for ‘INVESPIA’ his crypto finance company that has fallen on hard times. He has to find new backers to finance his expansion plans. That is why he is in the back of a taxi heading into the middle of nowhere. His taxi driver (Simon Phillips, Killing Field (a.k.a. Survive the Game), The Survivalist) wants to know which way to go, but all Paul knows are the directions on a scrap of paper.

Meanwhile, in Forge Mountain Retreat, Robert (Bruce Willis) has a little target practice out the back of the retreat as Kate (Kelly Greyson, Return to the Hiding Place, Disturbing the Peace) tells Robert there was a call from his son Paul, he is coming to see his estranged father.

Somewhere else in Puerto Rico, Ulysses (Ser’Darius Blain, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Jumanji: The Next Level) is putting together an infiltration squad, under the instructions of international bad man Balzary (Chad Michael Murray, Freaky Friday).

Paul and Robert have been apart for three years after the death of Paul’s mother. She left an estate with  a lot of money which Paul needs and Robert has access to. But it is not enough money for what Balzary wants.

Robert’s past is about to catch up with him, and it is going to be a complete surprise to Paul.

Fortress is the first film in an announced three part saga, it sets up the future of the next two films, as we definitely get an idea about the start of the next instalment at the end. With this amount of money at stake, don’t expect everybody to on the right side of the law.

Fortress is available on Digital Platforms and on DVD on the 11th of April.
