Death Comes in the Night.
When experienced independents come together with a plan, you’d hope that things will turn out well. Well, any fantasy fan worth his salt is going to love this Warhammer themed Medieval romp, those war-hammer’s are put to good use as peasants and Knights go head-to-head with the invaders from the North. In this crowdfunded masterpiece, and hopefully there will be more instalments to come.
Chaos Rising is an epic fantasy-action film drawing inspiration from the rich and immersive Warhammer universe. Punching way above its weight, Chaos Rising stands strong – the passionate heart of independent film – but with all the qualities of a big-budget production.
Chaos Rising is a proudly independent and ambitious project from combat experts whose skills have featured in Outlander, Game of Thrones and projects by Ridley Scott. The film is funded by generous Kickstarter pledges, surpassing the original campaign target in just 24 hours – Chaos Rising swiftly became a hot topic on Reddit, social media and YouTube.
The story unfolds as a fortified village in Breton is under siege by the malevolent Chaos warband from the Northern wastes. Baron Heaubolt (Daniel Arbon) is taken by surprise during the revered Breton celebration of “Holy Grail Day”. The formidable Chaos Marauder Skyehammer Clan descend upon the fortress – but with the timely arrival of Florian L’Anguille (Patrick Capaloff-Fowler) and his valiant knights, does the beleaguered fort stand a fighting chance against the onslaught?
Filmed on location in Scotland at the famous Duncarron Medieval Village, Chaos Rising draws viewers into a captivating tale of pride, malice, vengeance, and the far-reaching consequences they unleash. An enthralling journey featuring awe-inspiring battle scenes and thrilling action sequences, action movie fans, history buffs and table-top gaming enthusiasts alike will be captivated.
Chaos Rising is co-created and co-produced by Charlie Parker, Graeme Carlyle, Graeme McEwan, Roy Murray and award-winning VFX master Jack Fox. The film features a cast including Patrick Cappaloff Fowler, Charlie ‘Chick’ Allan, Daniel Arbon, Finn Allan, Brodie Toriati, Olivia Millar Ross, John Williams, Wayne Rogers, Dave Nordquist and Chara Gallos Allan.
The film’s realistic fight and stunt scenes are courtesy of Graeme Carlyle, Graeme McEwan, Brodie Toriati and Patrick Cappaloff Fowler’s background in on-screen fighting with Combat International, the stunt-performance division of Clan Ranald Trust for Scotland (led by Chick Allan, known for Gladiator). Chaos Rising’s combat team has spent many years performing on-screen combat for films and TV, including Outlander, Game of Thrones House of the Dragon, Outlaw King, Justice League, Robin Hood and The Last Duel (Ridley Scott).
